Acupuncture involves the precise insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system, promote natural pain-relieving mechanisms, and encourage the body’s own healing response. The needles are extremely fine, much thinner than a hypodermic needle, and most patients feel little or no discomfort during insertion. NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recommends acupuncture for chronic primary pain, headaches, and migraines, with a substantial body of clinical evidence supporting its effectiveness.
WELLNESS, TRAVEL & COMPLEMENTARY HEALTH • GLASGOW
Travel vaccines and certificates, when you need them.
Expert destination-specific travel health advice and all major vaccines in one appointment, including Yellow Fever certification with official ICVP issued on the day. NHS travel vaccination services have become increasingly limited across Glasgow; we exist to fill that gap with same-day appointments and proper destination-led clinical guidance.
OUR APPROACH TO TRAVEL HEALTH
Destination-led advice. Every vaccine in one place.
Why a private travel health clinic exists.
What a destination-led appointment involves.
Your appointment begins with a detailed travel health assessment, covering your specific destinations, itinerary, accommodation type, planned activities, and any specific medical considerations. From this we determine the exact vaccinations and antimalarial advice you need, in the optimal timing sequence for your travel date. Where possible, we administer all required vaccines in a single appointment. Where Yellow Fever vaccination is needed, we issue your official International Certificate of Vaccination (ICVP) on the day, ready to present at your destination’s border.
VACCINES AVAILABLE
Every major travel vaccine. Plus antimalarial advice.
We stock and administer the full range of travel vaccines required for any global destination, plus prescription antimalarial guidance where appropriate. Below is the current vaccine list. Your destination-led consultation will determine which vaccines are right for your specific travel plans.
01
Yellow Fever.
Required for entry to many African and South American countries. We are a certified Yellow Fever centre with official ICVP certification issued on the day.
02
Typhoid.
Recommended for travel to South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and parts of Central and South America where waterborne illness risk is elevated.
03
Hepatitis A and B.
Hepatitis A for most international destinations; Hepatitis B for travellers at higher risk of medical exposure or longer-term stays.
04
Rabies (pre-exposure).
Pre-travel vaccination for destinations with elevated rabies risk and limited access to post-exposure treatment.
05
Japanese Encephalitis.
Required for rural travel in parts of Asia, particularly during transmission season.
06
Meningitis ACWY and B.
Required for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, and recommended for travel to the meningitis belt of sub-Saharan Africa.
07
Tick-Borne Encephalitis.
Recommended for outdoor travel in forested areas of Central and Eastern Europe, particularly during tick season.
08
Cholera (oral).
Oral vaccine recommended for travel to high-risk regions or for humanitarian and aid workers.
09
Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio boosters.
Routine booster vaccines that should be up to date for international travel; we administer these alongside other travel vaccines as needed.
10
Antimalarials (prescription and advice).
Personalised antimalarial recommendations and prescription medication based on your specific destination, route, and accommodation type.
Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before travel. Last-minute also handled.
Some vaccines require multiple doses across several weeks for full protection, particularly Hepatitis B, Rabies pre-exposure, and Japanese Encephalitis. Where possible, book 6 to 8 weeks ahead of travel for the optimal protection schedule. We also accommodate last-minute travellers regularly. If you're travelling within days, contact us as soon as possible and we'll work to give you the best possible coverage in the time available.
