Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15 to 45 in the UK. It is also one of the most treatable forms of cancer when caught early, with five-year survival rates exceeding 95% for localised disease. The difference between those numbers depends largely on speed of assessment. Yet men consistently delay seeking help, often due to embarrassment, uncertainty about whether their symptoms warrant attention, or a reluctance to trouble a GP for something that “might be nothing.” That delay can matter. The point of this service is to make the assessment easy enough that nobody puts it off.

A private clinic exists for exactly this kind of moment.
Your appointment, your examination, your imaging results, and your written report remain entirely separate from your NHS records. Nothing is shared with your GP, an insurer, or any other party without your explicit written consent. If our findings indicate a need for onward referral, we'll discuss that with you openly and can facilitate an urgent pathway, but the decision and the timing are yours.
OUR APPROACH TO TESTICULAR SCREENING
Fast access. Clinical thoroughness. Honest results.
Why this matters more than men often think.
What our screening involves.
Your appointment includes a careful clinical examination by a doctor, followed by scrotal ultrasound imaging where indicated. The scrotal ultrasound is the gold-standard diagnostic tool for testicular pathology, a painless, non-invasive procedure that uses sound waves to visualise the internal structure of the testes and surrounding tissue in real time. The clinical examination findings are discussed with you immediately. The ultrasound report is provided in writing, typically within 24 to 48 hours, with a summary explanation in plain English. If urgent findings are identified, we expedite both the report and the discussion immediately, with onward referral options where indicated.
WHEN TO GET CHECKED
Six reasons to book.
The signs and situations below are when testicular screening is appropriate. If any apply to you, it’s worth booking an appointment, particularly if symptoms have appeared or changed recently. Men commonly delay this kind of assessment, but most things that bring patients in turn out to be benign. Either way, getting it properly checked is the only way to know.
01
A new lump, swelling, or change in texture.
New blood vessel formation in treated tissue, increasing oxygen and nutrient delivery to areas where compromised circulation has slowed healing.
02
Persistent dull ache or heaviness in the scrotum.
Ongoing discomfort that hasn’t resolved spontaneously, particularly when accompanied by any palpable change. Often caused by varicocele or epididymal cyst, but warrants assessment.
03
A testis that feels harder than usual.
A change in firmness or texture of the testis itself, distinct from any external lump. Worth assessing promptly given the spectrum of possible causes.
04
Unexplained discomfort in the lower abdomen.
Lower abdominal or groin discomfort without an obvious cause can occasionally relate to testicular pathology, particularly when accompanied by other symptoms.
05
A noticeable difference in size between the two testes.
Some asymmetry between the testes is normal, but a recent or significant change in relative size warrants assessment.
06
Anyone wanting a proactive baseline check.
Family history of testicular cancer, prior testicular surgery (including for undescended testis), or simply wanting baseline imaging for peace of mind. No symptom required.
Examination findings on the day. Imaging report in 24 to 48 hours.
Your clinical examination findings are discussed with you in person at your appointment, before you leave the clinic. The scrotal ultrasound report is reviewed by a consultant radiologist and a written summary provided to you, typically within 24 to 48 hours, delivered via secure portal, encrypted email, or telephone, whichever is most discreet for your circumstances. If urgent findings are identified, we expedite the report immediately and contact you to discuss next steps and onward referral options.
