Consent Policy
At Health3, nothing happens to you clinically without your informed consent. This page explains what that means in practice.
1. Informed consent
Before any assessment, test or procedure, your clinician will explain what is involved, why it is being recommended, the material risks and benefits, and any reasonable alternatives — including the alternative of not proceeding. You are encouraged to ask questions, and we will make sure you have the information you need before you decide.
2. Who can consent
Our services are for adults aged 18 and over with capacity to consent to their own care. We do not treat anyone under 18.
3. Your consent is specific, and can be withdrawn
Consent is obtained for each service or procedure, not given as a single blanket agreement. You can decline any part of an assessment or procedure, or withdraw your consent at any point — including part-way through — without it affecting your right to future care with us.
4. Chaperones
A chaperone will always be offered for any physical examination. Your choice is recorded, and you are welcome to have a chaperone present whether or not one is formally offered.
5. Consent to share your information
Separately from consent to treatment, we ask for your consent on how we use and share your information — including whether we share results with your GP. This is explained fully in our Privacy Policy. Regardless of your preference, if we identify a safety-critical finding, we may contact your GP or emergency services in your interest — this override is explained to you as part of the consent process, not hidden in the small print.
6. Samples
Where a procedure involves taking a sample (for example, a blood test), your sample is analysed in our own in-house laboratory only, and is destroyed after analysis. We do not send samples to third-party laboratories or retain them for any other purpose.
7. Written consent
For certain procedures — including those involving local anaesthetic or minor surgery — we will ask you to sign a specific written consent form before we proceed. This sits alongside, not instead of, the conversation with your clinician.
8. Consent forms
Copies of our consent forms are provided to you at the time of your appointment and are also available on request.
